The stories of space exploration can definitely be traced back to when people started observing objects in space even before recording some occurrences.

While the history of humans in space is quite short, the 1^st successful human spaceflight occurred 58 years ago, Yuri Gagarin had orbited around the globe in 1961.

Since then, humanity has come to terms with space exploration and over 500 individuals have visited space.

Just yesterday, a new space-history was made. Two women Astronauts make history by doing the first ever-all female Spacewalk.

Both ladies were scheduled to embark on the spacewalk on October 18^th, 2019 at 7:50 a.m. E.T. It was revealed that the two ladies will be replacing a faulty battery charge that failed to activate after a spacewalk carried out on October 11^th.

The damaged unit was preventing a set of lately installed batteries from providing adequate power, hence it had to be replaced before the series of spacewalks can be continued.

Meet Christina Koch, a fourth time, space-walker for the US astronaut

Koch, childhood dreams were to become an astronaut. She started her academic career at North Carolina State University, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering and Physics.

Koch equally earned a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the same school. Graduating from NASA Academy Program at Goddard Space Flight Center in 2001, Koch has spent about 3.5 years traveling the Antartic and Arctic regions. She tagged this time as mentally and physically challenging.

Jessica is a Brown University Alumni and holds a Master of Space Studies degree and a Ph.D. in marine biology. She has done some work at the Harvard Medical School and has been on board, the ISS since September 25^th. Holding a double Citizenship, Swedish and American – Jessica became the first Swedish woman in space.
