Joker Shatters Box-Office Record $13.3 Million For Thursday Showings

The film ‘Joker’ is officially getting the first giggle on its debut weekend, after scoring an October box-office with $13.3million earned in Thursday Night showings.
With the figures released on Friday morning by Warner Bros, the film ‘Joker’ dethroned Venom which held the record for best October opening with $80.3million.

The robust starts came after weeks of conversation and arguments about the R-rated movie and whether if the movie will not inspire some to commit violence.
Starring Joaquin Phoenix as the major character, and Todd Philips as the Director, both have defended the film, saying they believe the viewers will spot the difference between right and wrong.
On the other hand, victims of the Aurora, Colorado cinema massacre that occurred in a 2012 Dark Knight Rises have called on Warner Bros to support the gun control initiatives, of which the studio revealed it has already does.
Reportedly, theater in Huntington Beach, California has canceled many of its Thursday screening after police disclosed they had received a threat. Information about the threat was however not disclosed.
