7-Year-Old Boy Throws Prom For His Babysitter, 17, After Her Dance Was Canceled

All across the globe, graduations and proms are being suspended or perhaps canceled as a result of the global pandemic. And as home-based alternatives begin to surface, organizations, businesses, and even family members are getting innovative, hosting virtual meetings or gatherings to discuss an important subject matter as well as celebrate special events.

Well, kids are amazingly getting into the action. A boy, identified as Curtis Rogers from North Carolina, amidst the global crisis has lifted the spirits of his babysitter with a beautifully organized prom party. Rachel Chapman, 17, who had to give her senior prom a miss as a result of the pandemic was infuriated but not for too long.

Surprisingly, she got invited by the 7-Year-Old, who had beautifully organized a mini prom party at their backyard. ‘I was startled. I had no idea he was going to go all out for me, this is very thoughtful and sweet of him.’ Rachel reportedly said.

The babysitter has been watching over Curtis for over a year and her main duty has been to pick him up from school, ferry him to piano lessons, talking him to the playground, and helping him with his homework. ‘Rachel has become part of our family. She’s a great person with a good heart, hence it’s been a blessing to have her help us with Curtis.’ Elissa Rogers, Curtis’s mom said.

Nevertheless, Curtis started out the whole surprise plan with a promposal. He colored a sign inviting her to an at-home prom party. Expectedly, Rachel turned up in a lilac dress and with all smiling faces, Curtis escorted her in a beautiful blue checked suit He even went on to pick a bow tie that matches her Rachel’s dress.

The duo maintained social distancing and posed for photos six-feet part while also eating at opposite ends of a long table designed with flowers.
