20 People Share Double-Standard Things That Disgust Them Most

Everyone has a different standard in doing things. Every boss, government, parents, teachers have different values they abide by. But what’s most annoying is when they do not apply these standards equally to everyone or in every situation. It seems like the rules can be bent as their heart wishes to as long as it benefits themselves.
As if venting out their frustration, the question ‘What double standard disgusts you?’ has got people sharing all kinds of situations where equality does not exist.
Interestingly, many of these inequalities would only be seen as the norm in workplaces and society. Being late even by one minute still means late, but if you really see your job as important, you would be spending more than the minimum requirement working. Employers call only workers who do overtime as good workers.
In fact, the same act will reap different attitudes from their peers. Under similar situation, social status, with only the gender flipped, one can be labeled as a harasser or a daring person. The inequality stems from how society tends to differentiate, for example, the moral standard of men and women.
However, not all double standards are baseless. Statistics become a strong foundation when it comes to profound fears or prejudice. For example, men are more likely to cheat compared to women. They are equally wrong, but it is much easier for people to ‘understand’ that it’s the man with an affair in a relationship.
