Etherium Co-Funder Vitalik Buterin destroys $7 billion in Shiba Inu coins.
The 27-Year-Old billionaire sent a whopping 410,241,996,771,871.894771826174755464 coins to a dead wallet address, effectively destroying them and accounts for 41% of the total SHIB in circulation.
Buterin sent 410,241,996,771,871.894771826174755464 coins to a dead wallet address (here’s proof).
“I’ve decided to burn 90 percent of the remaining Shiba tokens in my wallet. The remaining 10 percent will be sent to a (not yet decided) charity with similar values to crypto-relief (preventing the large scale loss of life) but with a more long-term orientation.”
The Russian-Canadian programmer plans to donate 10% to a charity with similar values to crypto-relief.
“COVID is a big problem now, but it’s important to think about the longer-term future too!” Buterin, according to News.com.au reports said. The publication also shared that the founder of SHIB gave Buterin the coins. However, the Russian-Canadian programmer born in Moscow added that holding the remaining coins in the 0xab58 wallet forever was never an option.
According to Buterin, holding the remaining coins in the 0xab58 wallet forever was never an option.
Buterin explained: “For security reasons alone, they would have to be moved to a better wallet eventually, and any transactions I make would get interpreted as an action. So, may as well do the useful thing immediately. I’ve been impressed by how the dog token communities have treated the recent donations! Plenty of dog people have shown their generosity and willingness to not just focus on their profits but also be interested in making the world as a whole better.”

“I support all who are earnestly doing that. But for anyone making coins (or daos or whatever else) in the future, PLEASE DO NOT GIVE ME COINS ON POWER IN YOUR PROJECT WITHOUT MY CONSENT! I don’t want to be a locus of power of that kind. Better to print the coins into the hands of a worthy charity directly (though do talk to them first).”
The youngest billionaire has urged: “PLEASE DO NOT GIVE ME COINS ON POWER IN YOUR PROJECT WITHOUT MY CONSENT!”
Following the transaction, SHIB tweeted a release, stating it was the second time SHIB has made history in the last week. Nonetheless, Buterin’s action implies that SHIB’s value will possibly increase, especially as the circulating supply of it has been halved, resulting in each coin technically scarce.
However, SHIB, in a release, tweeted that “there is no greatness without a vulnerable point.”
