Woman’s ‘Shark Hand’ Photos Go Viral After Doctors Sew It Into Stomach

“I have lost a lot through sepsis, my limbs, a relationship and independence.”

Sadie Kemp experienced a fatal incident on Christmas Day and had been rushed to the hospital after experiencing sharp pain in her kidney. After several tests, she was diagnosed with a Kidney Stone and transferred to an emergency ward to instantly remove it. Amid the operation, the mum-of-two’s limbs became afflicted with sepsis.

The condition occurs when the body attempts to fight off infection and attacks and damages its tissues.

It had been a leading cause of death in hospitals, often resulting from complications during surgery. Doctors placed the 34-Year-Old into a medical coma for 11 days and amputated all the fingers on her left hand to save her life. Peterborough Today reported that doctors even sewed her hand inside a pouch in her abdomen to maintain blood circulation, which Kemp says resulted in her high-fiver looking like a shark head.

Sadie has since shared the result to TikTok, and as seen, the UK woman was making a Megalodon-esque mitt “hum” the “jaws” theme before dunking it in a bowl of water.

She told The Mirror“I wasn’t aware my hand was going to look like a shark’s head till it had actually been released from my abdomen. I looked at it for the first time, and I moved what was left of my thumb and I was just like, ‘Wow, it looks like a shark.” Thankfully, Sadie has taken the sharky effect in stride, using her appendage to perform tricks on camera, including pantomiming a fish’s movements and applying makeup.

In one clip, she was seen making her shark hand lip-sync along with the addicting “Baby Shark” song with a fleshy shadow puppet.

However, Sadie isn’t out of it totally as doctors will reportedly have to amputate her other hand and both legs below the knees. Additionally, the TikToker who recently lost her job at the NHS fears she could also lose her home, which a charity had provided following a financially devastating divorce. “I have lost a lot through sepsis, my limbs, a relationship, independence, and I just don’t want it happening to as many people as it does happen to.”

Sadie’s friend Stephanie King has launched a GoFundMe to help support her family with expenses.

So far, it has raised over $38000, and Sadie says she wants to raise awareness about the dangers of sepsis.
