Woman Replies With Her Outfit After Being Told She’s ‘Too Old To Dress Like A Teenager’
Remember: you’re never too old for fashion.
You are never too old to start things. That’s why people like to say to encourage anyone, at any age, to go after their dreams. Never too old to try, never too old to see yourself successful, etc.
But Lonni Pike, an influencer who is the owner of ‘Gray Hair And Tattoos’ blog, has recently been called for being ‘too old to dress like a teenager.’ A very active woman over 50 who loves to wear casual, tattoos, and her natural gray hair, she wants to explore the world with a ‘never-ending smile.’
Lonni Pike’s reply to the comment on TikTok was shared and went viral on Twitter as well.
The TikTok has received over 2 million views on TikTok with more than 400k likes and 26k comments. On Twitter, it received another 300k like and countless positive responses from people of all age.
Lonni has over 42k followers on Instagram which almost doubled since she posted her TikTok video that went viral. She’s very active on TikTok and had only started her Instagram earlier last year in 2020. Speaking to Viva Fifty, Lonni shared, “I get a lot of positive response from people appreciating the fact that I’m not afraid to show the world who I am.”
“I was in a bad marriage and we were separated for a time. I got barbed wire around my ankle because I felt trapped and helpless. This was the beginning of my journey to let the real me out and be who I wanted to be,” Lonni shared about her first tattoo that she got at the age of 30.
That single tattoo had not affected her life at all.
“I have a great job, I carry myself as the professional I am and considered one of the top in my field so no, I don’t think there is anything negatively impacted.”
Lonni is very proud to be able to show herself as how she is.
She encourages others to not be afraid to live their life and wear how they want. So long as your world is a positive one filled with the things you love and passion, Lonni’s words are to live by.
She also added she doesn’t allow negativity to enter her space. In her universe where she ‘explore the world with a laughter,’ she doesn’t allow people to criticize her lifestyle.
If you have been living your life with smiles and encouraging others to do the same, what kind of critics do you deserve?
Nobody is entitled to comment or criticize what you wear unless it is seriously offensive. Even if you don’t like what someone wears, it doesn’t give you the right to speak that out and possibly hurt their feelings. It doesn’t kill to just scroll on and ignore them. Perhaps, you’ll be one day old enough to understand yourself, don’t you think?
