What do winner get in this competition? The winner for every category wins CAD$2,000. They also get passes to hot springs for free. The competition began in 2011 and has been held annually with more and more outlandish entries submitted over the year.
Now it’s become a global sensation as they got double the entries they had in 2011.
Sharing about the contest, Takhini Hot Pools owner Andrew Umbrich said, “We like to think that this contest will bring some joy to viewers around the world — even if just for a few moments.”
The rules are to take the pictures between December and March, the coldest months of the year. The temperature is around -20°C (-4°F), but it’s just the perfect condition to get that great hair looks.
