‘Toddlers & Tiaras’ Star Kailia Posey Bought Gift For Mom Weeks Before Taking Her Own Life At 16
Continue to rest, beautiful soul.
Marcy Posey Gatterman, the mom of Kailia Posey, has said of the heartfelt gift her daughter bought for her weeks before taking her life earlier this month. The Toddlers & Tiaras star had arranged for a special blanket she found on TikTok to be delivered to their home. Notably, the news of Posey’s passing had been shared on Facebook on May 2nd.
And at the time, Mom Gatterman had written: “I don’t have words or any thoughts. A beautiful baby girl is gone. Please give us privacy as we mourn the loss of Kailia. My baby forever.”
Equally, the Posey family had released a statement confirming the reality star took her own life. They said: “Although she was an accomplished teenager with a bright future ahead of her, unfortunately, in one impetuous moment, she made the rash decision to end her earthly life.” Of the gift the late pageant princess gave her mom, it carried a touching message.

On the blanket, a text read: “Dear Mom, even when I’m not close by, I want you to know I love and appreciate you. Always. Wrap yourself up in this and consider it a big hug. I love you.”

Mom Gatterman, who spoke of the mentioned above with E! News, didn’t hesitate to appreciate the public for their condolences while reminding young followers to speak up if they ever feel hopeless enough to contemplate suicide. “This is the worst thing a mother can go through. Parents who have teenagers that have phones check their phones. And if you’re struggling, talk to your parents. They’re not judging you.”
Gatterman added: “They’re going to get you the help you need, but we need to know what you need in order to get the help you need. Don’t keep it inside.”
However, Posey had first appeared in about two episodes of TLC’s Toddlers & Tiaras. She was aged 5 when she made her debut in 2012, producing a popular GIF of herself grinning for the confessional camera. She continued to compete until her passing, finishing as a runner-up in the Miss Washington Teen USA pageant in February 2022.
