‘The benefit of coloring as identified, through anecdotally and research include mental escape, distraction, stress relief, enjoyment and fun as well as focusing and mindful engagement.’ Assistant Professor and Program Coordinator, Dr. Rachel Brandoff explained.

Speaking to Bored Panda, Dr. Brandoff, who’s a creative art therapist from Thomas Jefferson University continued: ‘Art therapy can foster same therapy and it’s most likely that a person engaging in art therapy has wider goals in mind, including communicating with others, facilitating decision making, enhancing self-awareness, processing trauma, understanding optimal and maladaptive functioning as well as developing coping skills.’
