Teen Dad, 19, Confesses To Leaving His Infant Son To Die In 130-Degree Car

Footage showed him leaving his son in the car and not returning until several hours later.

19-Year-Old Landon Parrott has been charged with involuntary manslaughter, murder, and two counts of endangering children after abandoning his little 14-Month-Old son in a car under extreme temperatures. He confessed to causing his son’s Kyler death after careful interrogation by the cops.

The Ohio-based had said he only left the infant for a short bathroom, but a video showed he went for over 5 hours.

Particularly, cops showed Landon footage of himself leaving the car at about 8:30 am and not returning for the next 5 hours, showing up later, around 1:50 pm. At this time, temperatures were reportedly into the upper 80s, and the car was likely as hot as 130 degrees Fahrenheit.

Police Chief Goodwin added: “It appears that this was not a matter of forgetting the child but was a deliberate act so as the child would not be a disturbance while in the house.” Per Fox affiliate, WJW, police official Ty Norris claimed Landon admitted to the officers that he was aware of the adverse consequence of keeping kids in hot cars. Landon is being held in custody on a $250,000 bond.

Norris further said: “We estimate that would’ve made the interior of the car about 130 degrees and this child was in there strapped into a car seat with no fluids, no air conditioning, nothing. It’s heartbreaking to see this unfold before your eyes.” The grandparents of Kyler have since described Kyler as an active baby and always curious.

They wrote: “Kyler was a surprise who immediately changed our world in the best way, from the very beginning. Justice will be served, but the purpose of this is to bring everyone’s attention to the existence of Kyler Phillip Allen Parrott. You’ll possibly agree that baby Kyler lost his life due to his dad’s irresponsibility and poor parenting.
