Supermodel, 57, Stuns In Bikini As She Hits Back At “Ageist” Trolls
“To perceive beauty you have to be able to SEE.”
Paulina Porizkova is a frequent target of trolls! The beauty, who started modeling in the 1980s, was recently told by a troll that she looked like she was in so much pain to keep posting bikini pictures at her age and that they pray she can come to terms with her mortality, especially as getting old and ugly remains inevitable.
Hitting back, the 57-Year-Old proved she’s unbothered as she shared a chic swimwear snap that showed her abs.
The supermodel didn’t only slam the ageist troll who commented on her appearance and age but aired her frustrations. Her post began with the caption: “Here’s a good follower comment, echoing a few others. A woman of 57 is too old to pose in a bikini, no matter what she looks like.”
She continued: “Because Old is ugly. I get comments like these every time I post a photo of my body. This is the ageist shaming that sets my teeth on edge. Older men are distinguished; older women are ugly.”
Paulina claimed that people who believe prettiness equals beauty do not understand beauty, adding that pretty is easy on the eyes, partly because it’s bland, offensive, easy to take in and forget. “Not so beauty. Beauty can be sharp. It can wound you and leave a scar. To perceive beauty, you have to be able to SEE. This is why I believe we get more beautiful with age. We have earned our beauty, we understand what it is, and we can see it so much better.”
The stunning model concluded: “There is no such thing as ugly and old. Only shortsighted and ignorant.”
So far, people have praised Paulina’s response as one person wrote: “Dang woman, you are strong to repost that hateful fools post. I’m loving it. You have not fallen from anywhere. If that’s ugly, I want to be ugly.” Another said: “Gosh if you’re old and ugly, it doesn’t leave much hope for us! I hope you’re enjoying your beauty and foxiness – and you’re still only 57!!!” Someone else said Paulina looked better at 57 than I did at age 17.
