French Stylist Recreates Famous Fashion Ads To Show Average Women As Models
These images were created for the project Spoof, featuring famous fashion ads.
If you’ve ever fantasized about being in a famous fashion photoshoot, this photo series might be the inspiration you need. French stylist and journalist Nathalie Croquet has recently launched an exhibition titled Spoof, featuring photos of famous fashion and beauty advertising campaigns, from Lavin to Givenchy and Lancôme.
Along with photographer Daniel Schweizer, Nathalie casts herself as the leading model, copying the poses and styling with impressive attention to detail of the famous faces of Kate Moss, Edie Campbell, and Penelope Cruz, among others. We’ve compiled all of her recreations, and it’s safe to say that the serious amount of work put into each shot is mind-blowing. Have a look

As with the aim behind Croquet’s photo series, she told BuzzFeed, “Women, consumption, retouching, cosmetics, aging, beauty, those all come to mind, but truly those issues are up for debate. I feel people need a more spiritual approach to life and good fun,” she said. “I’m happy to give them that, even if I’m just making fun of myself.”
