Selena Gomez Wore A Swimsuit As She Confidently Shows Off Her Kidney Transplant Scar
Her confidence is so inspiring.
Selena Gomez is one of those world stars who did not have it easy in life. She was diagnosed with Lupus and had to go through multiple procedures to save her life. Not only that, her love life did not help her and she fell into depression as she stayed away from the spotlight from time to time for the sake of her mental health.
But she’s a real queen and always comes back stronger than before.
After her health condition announcement in 2013, she had to lay low and undergo chemotherapy. The ‘Selena + Chef’ host spent years and regularly kept her followers updated on her health progress.
The musician to ‘Lose You To Love Me’ received a kidney transplant from her best friend Francia Raisa in 2017. Speaking of that moment, she wrote in a recent post, “When I got my kidney transplant, I remember it being very difficult at first showing my scar.”
“I didn’t want it to be in photos, so I wore things that would cover it up,” she admitted.
But she feels different about herself, her body and the scars it bears. She wrote, “Now, more than ever, I feel confident in who I am and what I went through… and I’m proud of that.”
Selena was shown posing in baby blue ‘Play Date’ swimsuit by La’mariette which reveals a scar on her inner thigh, one she received after an emergency procedure post-transplant.
She also wrote, “Congratulations on what you’re doing for women, launching @lamariette whose message is just that… all bodies are beautiful.”
In an industry that always demands perfection and where people keep covering up their flaws, Selena beautifully embraced and showed it off. It takes time and it’s normal like that, but we congratulate her for getting there.
