Nicki Minaj Announces Retirement On Twitter To Focus On Family

When everyone least expects it, rapper Nicki Minaj dropped the bomb: she’s stepping out of the music industry. And she decided to take it to Twitter to announce it:

“I’ve decided to retire & have my family. I know you guys are happy now. To my fans, keep reppin me, do it til da death of me, in the box- cuz ain’t nobody checkin me. Love you for LIFE.”

The celebrity is now a married woman to Kenneth Petty, but the two has quite the rough marriage journey. Petty was convicted for attempted rape when he was 16 and then the first-degree manslaughter to which he served 4 out of 10 years in jail after pleading guilty in 2006.

A source speaking to E!News that Minaj and Petty got their marriage license back in July at Beverly Hills Courthouse. This happens a month after she claimed she had one a month before this, but really, whichever it is that is true, they are now officially husband and wife.

Fans were distraught, unhappy and wishes for her to clarify more.
