Mum And Her Female Lover Found Guilty After Baby Daughter Tortured To Death
Five times. The murderer was reported five times but no actions were taken.
Star Hobson was only 16 months old when her mother’s girlfriend, Savannah Brockhill, abused and murdered her in cold blood last year. Recently, a Facebook clip of Star being held by Savannah showed how she, without a smile, was asked, “Do you love me?”
There was a pause before she decided to say, “Yes.”
The 28-year-old woman was convicted of murdering the toddler as well as abusing her during their living together in Keighley, West Yorkshire. Her mother, Frankie Smith, was convicted for allowing her daughter to die a year later yesterday.
Her great-grandfather had often suspected there is abuse going on. He dubbed Savannah as someone who “ascended from the bowels of hell.”
Despite their attempts, the great-grandparents failed to keep the baby and were blocked on social media by the couple.
When calling regarding suspected abuse, the pair told Social Services they didn’t want “another baby P.” Instead of a prompt reaction, the person asked, “How do you mean?”
“Well, Baby P died through abuse, and we’re making a complaint. My first reaction would have been, ‘Yeah, right, we’re on the ball, we’ll sort this one out, we don’t want another Baby P’. Especially with them being the social services. It just came across as being a bit shambolic, really, Absolutely shambolic.”
Star’s mother, Frankie, was charmed by her new girlfriend Savannah. She has an IQ of 70 and lost interest in caring about her own daughter. Her low IQ makes her an easy target to be dominated and mentally controlled.
Savannah, on the other hand, is a very possessive and aggressive woman that threatened she’d put them “in a chair” if they looked at her girlfriend.
She dubbed herself as the “number one psycho” and threatened she’d kneecap them if they so much as get in the way of her and her girlfriend.
The injury that killed the toddler was extensive damage to her abdominal cavity. While she was rushed to the hospital, doctors declared they were “unsurvivable.” These were a split in the liver, a tear in the fatty attachments around the bowel, and bruises just below the lungs and on the pancreas.
Her right leg has also been fractured from “forceful twisting” and was refractured while it was healing.
In the “absurd” reasoning Savannah gave, she explained the injuries were made by another two-year-old child. Before this, the couple has been reported to the Social Services five times, all of which were written off as malicious rumors.
Savannah was caught driving Star to the recycling plant she works at and beat her multiple times in the car.
The women denied having ever abused the toddler and blamed each other. Star was found not breathing in her home, pale and when CPR was attempted by first responders, she vomited a large amount of brown material.
The injury was declared to be “caused by the application of blunt force in the form of a punch, kick or stamp delivered to the front of the abdomen.”

The representative for Smith admitted, “Frankie Smith was a terrible mother. She was selfish and sometimes callous.”
Hollie Jones, the babysitter, first reported the mother, but it was dropped shortly after by the authorities.
Anita Smith, her grandparent, reported the couple as well after seeing the bruises on Star’s face.
David Fawcett, the great-grandfather, had also reported the couple to the Social Services but failed to become Star’s caretakers.
The last report was one week before Star’s death in the hands of Savannah.
The first concern was raised in January and closed on February 27.
Later, Anita Smith, her great-grandmother, reported the couple again, but was instead labeled a “weirdo.” Restrictions were put on her and her husband, allowing them to only meet Star a few times before her passing.
David recalled on the court, “I’d never seen a depressed baby before in my life.”
Star’s father reported them to Social Services again on June 21 and they saw a scar on her head. They told them she hit her head on the coffee table handle.
As for her leg injuries, they said she was playing with a puppy and the Social Services believed them. But people did not stop – her grandmother’s friend, Rachel Whiteley, reported them again on June 23. She had just invited them to her BBQ party and was concerned with how she handled the toddler.
“I thought it was disgusting, giving her barbecue food, the way she handled her,” she shared. It was subsequently closed with no clear reason.
Her paternal great-grandfather was the last saving line Social Services ignored on September 2. This was when the baby walked into a sofa because she was so dazed and had multiple bruises on her body. Savannah herself confirmed what happened, “Social services came to see Star, she checked her body, her bedroom, chatted with us about Star, she said the report was malicious.”
There was a 15-minute lag between the pair finding the girl unresponsive to finally calling for help. She passed away about an hour later at the hospital.
