She was only 30.

Cheslie Kryst was found dead after leaping off a 60-story building in New York. The 30-year-old model jumped off on Sunday morning, not long after sharing an uplifting Instagram post that day.

“May this day bring you rest and peace,” she captioned a selfie of herself.

The former Miss USA of 2019 owned a luxurious apartment in West 42nd Street located in the middle of Manhattan. She was found soon after dying from the jump at 7.15 AM.

NYPD officers soon arrived and the current investigation reveals that she left a note in the apartment that says she leaves everything to her mother.

The former beauty pageant winner who’s also been nominated twice for her role as ‘Extra’ show’s correspondent is also known as a lawyer.

Before Miss USA, Cheslie followed in the footsteps of his mother who was crowned Mrs. North Carolina in 2002 by donning the same title later in her life.

The model also gained a law degree from Wake Forest University School of Law in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and had been practicing pro bono work for inmates. She’s also started her own fashion blog called ‘White Collar Glam’.

Kryst’s family released a statement regarding her passing:

“In devastation and great sorrow, we share the passing of our beloved Cheslie. Her great light was one that inspired others around the world with her beauty and strength. She cared, she loved, she laughed and she shined. Cheslie embodied love and served others, whether through her work as an attorney fighting for social justice, as Miss USA and as a host on Extra.”

“But most importantly, as a daughter, sister, friend, mentor, and colleague – we know her impact will live on. As we reflect on our loss, the family asks for privacy at this time,” the statement ended.

Writing about the role of social media in her life, Kryst appeared to enjoy sharing the best highlights in her life with her followers. She wrote, “My Instagram is my highlight reel and I want to look my best while I share a look at my life, my fun, and the body I’m proud of. But that’s all it is. A fine-tuned glimpse into a moment in time.”

“Don’t allow what you see on here make you forget that I’m incredibly flawed; I simply chose not to share those flaws in a photo.”

“And definitely don’t compare your own flaws to what you see in this picture or any others on my page. It’s not fair to compare 100% of yourself, your good days, bad days, and everything in between to a highly curated fraction of me on my best days.”

A source told NYP, “Not only beautiful but she was smart — she was a lawyer. She has a life that anyone would be jealous of. … It’s so sad.”

She once revealed her struggles with sexism at work while focusing on representing inmates to reduce their sentences for free. Kryst talked about how a panel of judges only commented how she should wear a skirt next time during a moot court competition in Louisiana.

The model shares that her love for pageants started when she was 10 after she was charmed by the magic that was her mother riding a horse-drawn carriage in a 2002 parade as Mrs. North Carolina.

Pictured with Taylor Swift, Kryst was also a news correspondent for ‘Extra,’ a position that earned her two Daytime Emmy nominations.
