Margot Robbie Snuck In An Unscripted Kiss With Brad Pitt Because She Saw It As Her Only ‘Chance’
Margot took matters into her hands to ensure she got her long-awaited kiss with Brad.
Margot Robbie has shed a little behind-the-scenes light on the ‘Babylon’ set. She plays aspiring actor Nellie, who recruits Manny, portrayed by Diego Calva, and Jack, played by Brad Pitt to help her find success and stardom in 1920s Hollywood.

The film is set for release in theaters on Dec. 23rd and elsewhere on January 6th.

Discussing the project in an interview with E! News, Margot revealed she and Brad shared a smooch in the film.

She also admitted that the kiss actually wasn’t in the script at all and was completely improvised by her.

“That wasn’t in the script. But I thought when else am I gonna get the chance to kiss Brad Pitt? I’, just gonna go for it.” Margot alleged she was able to convince director Damien Chazelle that her character kissing Jack would make total sense. She claimed: “I said, ‘Damien, I think Nellie would just go up and kiss Jack.”

She went on: “This opportunity might never come up again. And he was like, ‘it does work for the character and I was like, ‘I think so.” With Margot’s character kissing Brad making a great scene, Damien reportedly instructed her to do it again – something the actress described as just great and was very pleased to hear.

Margot said of Damien’s response: “And Damien was like, ‘Well, she could – wait, hold on. You just wanna kiss Brad Pitt. And I was like, ‘Oh, so sue me.”

Previously, Margot had collaborated with Brad in the 2015 Drama comedy The Big Short and more recently, in Quentin Tarantino’s blockbuster hit Once Upon A Time in Hollywood.

She further shared of Damien’s instruction: “He was like, ‘No, do it again. That really works. I was like, ‘Oh great.” Both Margot and Pitt share quite a long-running friendship, with the actor enlisting her help with delivering his awkward acceptance speech at the 2020 BAFTA Awards. It will be recalled Brad prepared to make a joke about Prince Harry & Meghan Markle stepping back from the royal family.

But as he was unable to attend the event, he asked Margot to deliver the speech on his behalf.

The speech read aloud from a piece of paper stated: “He says he is gonna name this [award] Harry because he’s really excited about bringing it back to the States with him!” Funnily enough, Prince Harry’s brother and sister-in-law, who sat in the front row of the audience, chuckled at the little quip along with the rest of the crowd.”

In a later appearance on Good Morning America, Margot, however, admitted she was panicked about delivering the speech and that she forgot to prepare any words herself.

She said at the time: “The night before, he was like, ‘Can you do my speech for me? I can’t be there. I was so panicked about his speech that I didn’t even think about preparing one for myself. I was up for two [awards]. For both films in my category and it wasn’t until I was on the way there that I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, I hope I don’t win because I don’t have anything to say.”

The first trailer for the upcoming period comedy-drama ‘Babylon’ has since garnered tons of hype.

Besides the film’s renowned director, Damien who wrote projects Whiplash and La La Land, the whole cast of Babylon has left viewers all the more excited for its release, with Margot, Diego, Pitt, and Tobey Maguire being just a handful of its big names.

And so, Margot indeed took matters into her hands, ensuring she got her long-awaited kiss with Brad.
