The Spanish comedian and actor, nicknamed ‘El Risitas’ (The Giggles), is known by millions of people worldwide for his distinctive laugh when interviewed on Ratones Coloraos. Sadly, Juan Joya Borja, the face behind the epic Spanish Laughing Guy Meme, has died due to a prolonged illness at age 65. He had been hospitalized since 2020.

So far, tributes have flooded in for the star, who was also known as the face of the KEKW emoji on Twitch. The online sensation had in 2014 told a tale about his time working at a restaurant and couldn’t hold it together, resulting in fits of giggles. In the clip, Borja explained how he once left 20 paella dishes overnight in the sea to clean, only to return the next day and find they’d been swept away.

Two videos of the original interview garnered over 85million views on YouTube; this is aside from the countless parodies equally uploaded. However, no matter how bad a situation is, Borja is still one person that can help you laugh through it. In the meantime, ‘Rest In Peace’ Borja!
