Makeup Artist, 37, Says She’s Constantly Mistaken For Jennifer Lopez
While the influencer could use the likeness to her advantage, she always tells people the truth straight away.
The makeup guru has attracted a legion of followers who think she’s Jennifer Lopez’s doppelganger. Comments about looking like the Latino singer started when Evelyn Rodriguez moved to the US at the age of nine. She has been stopped countless times by strangers, including once while driving and another time by a persistent waiter who had refused to take no for an answer.
When she was 16, while working at McDonald’s, customers regularly picked up on the resemblance.
But Evelyn says she always tells people the truth straight away even though she could see the resemblance to her advantage. “[Ninety-Nine] percent of people say we’re twins, but others say I’m a mixture of Kate Hudson. Whatever they say, I feel complimented every single time,” the makeup guru, who was born in the Dominican Republic but is now based in the Bronx, New York said.
The 37-Year-Old has never met with her celebrity doppelganger but says she would love to and would probably be girl-crushing if she did.
Evelyn’s videos on TikTok, where she’s gained over 170K followers include makeup looks inspired by the I’m Real Music and the All I Have, as well as an iconic JLO look from the 2005 Latin Billboard Awards. And while she admitted to not always seeing the likeness with JLo, the influencer says she’s always taken it as a compliment to be compared to the singer and even now she still feels honored.
“I have been stopped countless times when I’m just walking around the city. People always ask if I’ve heard it before and I’m always like… ‘Yes!”
Evelyn added: “She’s a multi-dimensional icon. There’s no doubt about that. She’s a vibe. To be honest I don’t see it, to me this is just my face. Sometimes for a second I see it, but then I soon go back to not seeing it. My favorite one is when people stare at me for ages and ask ‘Do you know who you look like? Because the answer is always the same.”
The makeup guru alleged that each time she meets with new people she always gets the same compliment and all her friends have always told her she looks like the singer.
She concluded: “I have dyed my hair, had weight changes and it doesn’t matter – apparently I always look like her.” Some of Evelyn’s recent TikTok posts show how to recreate some of JLo’s makeup looks. In one, she showed how to create the singer’s thick eyeliner from the 2002 music video for All I Have, where she’s seen singing alongside rapper LL Cool J.
As she posted the video, people in the comments didn’t hold back at pointing out Evelyn’s likeness to JLo.

A user, identified as Antaman said she looked like a mixture of JLo and Kate Hudson for sure. Another Isamar added: “Girl what. Are you her long lost twin or something?” A third, Doinmadamnbest wrote: “You didn’t even need the makeup! You look soooo much like her!” Aside from TikTok, Evelyn has, however, also been creating content on Instagram under the name @pocaeve to share fun makeup videos.
