Lana Del Rey, 38, Spotted Serving Customers As A Waitress In A Waffle House
Lana Del Rey stepped away from the stage as she was seen pouring coffee at the restaurant chain.
The singer temporarily left the stage and took on a new role, serving coffee and managing orders as a waitress in a Waffle House in Alabama. It’s unknown why Lana Del Rey was working at the venue but fans were quick to flock to social media, particularly Twitter to share their shock at the act after video of her at the Waffle House surfaced and went viral.
Lana Del Rey was dressed in the company’s blue uniform and had a yellow name badge as she kept busy behind the counter while also waiting tables.
Taking to Twitter, someone wrote: ‘Lana Del Rey randomly working as a waitress for the Waffle House is iconic.’ Another said: ‘What is Lana Del Rey doing working a shift at the Waffle House,’ while a third tweeted: ‘Waffle House employee of the month: Lana Del Rey.’ While a third joked: ‘Lana Del Rey working at Waffle House was not on my 2023 bingo card.’
Some fans speculated that she might be filming a music video, while some wondered if she had been gifted the uniform so was giving a helping hand.
A customer at the Waffle House, identified as Karina Cisneros Juarez told how they were thrilled to have met the musician in the restaurant, describing their encounter as ‘insane’. They wrote on Facebook: ‘I have been a huge fan of Lana Del Rey for over a decade, so meeting her today was truly insane.’ Though she has become a successful global star with nine studio albums yet Lana Del Rey keeps a low profile in her everyday life and has no presence online.
In the Waffle House video, the singer didn’t hold back to chat with some very shocked customers and sweetly posed for photographs with fans.
In the past, Lana has mentioned her preference for exploring diverse jobs alongside her music career, describing herself as ‘flexible’ when it comes to her professional pursuits. In 2021, she told Variety: ‘Sometimes that has taken me super far away from music into other mediums and other job opportunities that have nothing to do with the arts at all. I’m very flexible and what I’ve come to understand is that if you follow what you’re interested in, you’ll end up being the most creative in that field.’

However, Lana’s latest appearance was notably more low-key compared to her performance at Glastonbury. The highly-anticipated gig stirred up controversy when she arrived on stage 30 minutes late, attributing the delay to her hair being styled. Her tardiness caused frustration among fans at the Park Stage, who had to wait beyond the scheduled start time.
During her performance, her microphone was unexpectedly turned off, leaving her to sing without amplification.
The scheduled end time of her set was 11.45 pm, but it continued for over 15 minutes past the expected time. Due to the festival site’s curfew, her performance was abruptly cut off while singing “White Mustang.” When she appeared at London’s BST Hyde Park earlier this month, Lana addressed the incident as she said, ‘Sorry about that.’ She also had made light of the issue at the UK capital over the weekend.
When introducing her track Diet Mountain Dew on Sunday, Lana joked: ‘I think is where I got cut off last time. Sorry about that.’
She referenced the situation again before performing her hit Video Games, saying, ‘It’s worth it if the power is cut.’ However, Lana has established herself as one of the most successful singers, boasting five Australian number-one albums. Recently, she achieved a feat by selling out a headline show at London’s Hyde Park, attracting an audience of 65,000 enthusiastic fans. It contributed to her net worth of over $40 million.
