Katharine McPhee pulled out of her Asia tour after discovering their son’s nanny has died.
It has been claimed their son’s nanny has died, leading to Katharine McPhee pulling out of the final dates of her Asia tour with husband David Foster. The singer was busy performing in Asia with her 16-time Grammy Award-winning beau when they cryptically announced a horrible family tragedy via a statement posted on Instagram that required a rush back to the United States.
Now, sources close to Katharine McPhee have told TMZ that the tragedy in question was the death of her son’s nanny.

The publication reports the couple considers the nanny part of the family and is devastated by the development. In their statement, Katharine announced she would be missing the final two shows of the tour, which were to take place in the Indonesian capital, Jakarta. She penned, ‘Dearest Jakarta fans, it’s with a heavy heart I announce I have to miss our final two shows of our Asia run.’

Katharine McPhee added in the statement, ‘David and I have had a horrible tragedy in our family and at least one of us needs to get back home to our family.’
The actress/singer concluded, ‘Please know how sorry I am and how much I wish to return one day and perform for you all. Love Katharine.’ She shared no further details. Shortly after Katherine shared the news, her comments section was flooded with sympathetic messages, with Nicole Scherzinger writing, ‘Sending my love and prayers for your family❤️’ Foster’s ex-wife, Linda Thompson, also wrote: ‘Sending you and David love, and hoping that everything is OK.’

As of now, it appears David Foster, 73, might be performing at Jakarta’s Sentul International Convention on Aug. 12, according to details listed on his website. He will be joined by Michael Bolton, Loren Allred, Raisa, and Peabo Bryson. After the Jakarta tour, the couple, per PEOPLE, plan to take a three-month break before continuing performances in the U.S., starting with a show on Nov. 1st in Warren, Michigan. Notably, Foster and McPhee share 2-year-old son Rennie David, though it is unclear if the couple took their child with them on tour.
