Joe Rogan Says He Gained 2 Million Subscribers Amidst Cancel Culture

The reception towards the celebrity’s controversial viewers were pretty… positive?

“Fear Factor” host Joe Rogan spoke on how the recent controversies surrounding his podcast affected his popularity. The 54-year-old finally spoke about that one time he had Dr. Robert Malone on his show, a figure known for his anti-vax views.

Rogan spoke with commentator Douglas Murray that despite the backlash, he’s seeing only growth in his subscribers.

“You have been put through the wringer since we last met. They did a number on you. Wow,” said Murray at the man.

However, the UFC commentator told him, “It’s interesting, my subscriptions went up massively — that’s what’s crazy. During the height of it all, I gained 2 million subscribers.”

Before this, his podcast has around 11 million listeners per episode.

However, The Hollywood Reporter stated that his following had always had steady growth since his day one on Spotify instead of a huge leap, as he claimed in the podcast. Spotify, however, never publicized the numbers.

Musicians have also pulled out from Spotify after a viral clip of Rogan using the N-word multiple times in different episodes of his podcast. These people include Neil Young and Joni Mitchell. While Spotify never really kicked him out, several episodes have been pulled out, particularly the ones that listen to conspiracy theorists.

Dr. Robert Malone is infamous for his anti-vax views and for comparing the US public health situation to that of Germany from the 1930s when the Nazis reign.

He’s also called out CNN, which had accused him of ingesting “horse dewormer” for Covid when it was actually an approved form of Ivermectin for humans.

He spoke about the issue, “Yeah, [the media] went for it. It’s also fortunate that the people who went for it were CNN. They’re so untrustworthy, and people know how biased they are, and socially weird their anchors are.”
