Japanese Public School Teachers Will No Longer Check Colour Of Students’ Underwear

Why do they need to know the color of the students’ underwear?

Only perverts would look under your skirt because they need to know the color of your underwear. But there were 14 schools in Saga Prefecture located on Kyushu Island that in the southwest area of Japan that allows this.

Fortunately, the borderline-harassment policy has been removed.

Uniform rules are common in Asian countries to exercise equality and fairness amongst students. However, these schools’ uniform policy includes mandatory white underwear. Teachers would pull their bra straps and even ask them to undress in the changing rooms to check the color of their underwear.

NewsOnJapan reported That underwear rules would be abolished when the Japanese school year starts in the second week of April.

Besides, last year in Fukuoka City, a study finds out that more than 80% of the schools there also define the color of the students’ underwear. Condemning such policy, the study’s author calls it an ‘infringement of human rights’ where students are forced to remove their underwear if it’s in the wrong color.

Students are too scared to speak out against these unfair rules.

Strict rules often include the skirt’s minimum length, the color of socks, and shoes, applicable on both their winter and summer uniforms. Despite feeling disturbed by the policy, a study of students in Shizuoka Prefecture west of Tokyo shows that they’re too scared to speak up about the controversial policy.
