Illustrator Draws Beautiful Comic About A Boy Who Can’t Cry And It’s Relatable
Cry, if you want to.
‘Boys don’t cry’ is what a lot of parents like to tell their boys. Growing up, a lot of men today are unable to channel their thoughts and vulnerability well because they fear it’ll be seen as a ‘weakness’. Even though, nobody on this earth lives without a weakness. Thus, men tend to conceal their depression, insecurity, and anxiety.
In an effort to show this in his lighthearted art style, Tum Natakorn Ulit created a series of comics about a boy who was told not to cry and one day, it almost blew up.

We see a young boy with a nice lady here who told him that boys don’t cry.

And it begun.

The bulging head is the tears he’s been withholding, as if representing the depression and anxiety that men hide.

It got bigger and began to attract attentions, which of course worsened his already bad condition.

We see here the boy has a rather tragic backstory of a broken home.

Even on the day he lost her, he was determined not to cry.

Eventually, he wanted this to end.

Would this represent death?

We’ll never know, thanks to this cat.

So, hey, crying isn’t so bad at all, right? Poor cat hated to get wet though!

Tum Ulit finished the comic with one message that tells people it’s okay to cry.

A lot of people connect with the boy.
