‘I Was Called Dumb For Filling Tesla With Petrol, But Had The Last Laugh’
The influencer tried to fill a Tesla with petrol and was instantly met with criticism, but Danielle Wright wants the trolls to know she doesn’t care.
Telsa cars are believed to be electric, so when Danielle Wright attempted to fill the luxury vehicle with gasoline, it resorted to criticism. A video of the Sheffield-based went viral, and it showed her trying to fill the vehicle instead of plugging it in to charge. The 22-year-old was seen in the clip looking confused as to where the fuel hatch was and even discouraged onlookers who tried to warn her of what she was doing wrong.
Danielle’s Tesla clip has earned over 40 million views, and people labeled her dumb, while a few suggested it was staged.
The beauty received messages poking fun at the mistake, but then DailyStar reports Danielle remains unbothered as she’s earning over £500K a year as an adult creator on Fanvue. She told the publication, ‘Haha, I mean, Elon Musk even said it himself, habits die hard. I honestly don’t know what I was doing, it was the end of a long day and the car is brand new.’
Danielle added, ‘I just rolled up into the petrol station thinking about the sweets I was going to get from the counter rather than the fact my car doesn’t actually need petrol.’
She doesn’t care if people think the video is staged, as she further stated, ‘I’m so used to being called fake. Fake boobs, fake this, fake that. People online can say what they want, but it was an embarrassing mistake. I mean, Elon replied and stuck up for me – and he’s meant to have the biggest brain in the world.’ Danielle continued that people shouldn’t be so quick to judge and credited her brain for getting her to where she is.
The digital content creator admitted she dislikes people who watched her viral video and assumed the car wasn’t even hers.
Danielle insisted she has worked hard for the life she’s living now and doesn’t want anyone to discredit her. She explained, ‘People weren’t nice. People were calling me dumb, attacking what I was wearing and the way I looked. They were even saying it’s not my car and I’ve got more money than sense, which was probably the most frustrating. I’ve earned every penny to buy this, and I love cars. It really is a dream come true to own a Tesla. But they can laugh all they want.’
Danielle continued, ‘I’m out here earning £60,000 a month on Fanvue, and I bought that car outright. There are not many people who can say that. I’ve learned there’s no point in replying to the hate. I just focus on all my fans who love my content.’
The influencer claims all someone has to do is check her bank statement and they will see she’s doing pretty well, stating, ‘People are just so jealous when you’ve worked hard and achieved something, and they turn nasty because of it. But they should turn around and have a look at themselves before judging others.’ However, Danielle has been posting content on Fanvue. The brunette said she’s always loved creating content and that she has big ambitions.
She further explained, ‘People always turn their noses up at content creation and think it’s an easy job, but you have to be business-minded to be able to make it into the top earners.
‘It’s a 24/7 job that you’re constantly having to grow, and you’re usually doing it all on your own. It’s just as hard work as working in the city, let me tell you, it’s just different. I love chatting with people, creating content, and seeing all the love. That’s what makes [the trolling] worth it in the end.’ Following the Tesla incident, Danielle said she has laughed it off and would even love to meet Elon Musk to advise him on his e-car business. She shared, ‘Elon, I’d love to meet you and share some ideas on the next Tesla. Hit me up!’
