“I Spent 300 Hours Making This Monster Hunter Costume”
Kamui cosplay dropped an impressive screen-accurate cosplay!
Kamui Cosplay ran by Svetlana is among some of the most avid, screen-accurate cosplayers out there. Svetlana dedicated an impressive 300-hour work into her latest Monster Hunter Bone Armor look.
She’s a legendary cosplayer that has also been commissioned from Square Enix to do one with ‘Outriders.’

The Germany-based cosplayer works with her husband Benni and pen books sharing how they get super motivated in making costumes and tips and tricks to make one.
She made a reel of her step-by-step of making the body armor of the costume.

She uses faux leather to replicate that animal skin look. Naturally, she had to use a hammer to make holes and hook to sew the parts together.

Inner top armor done!

Then she worked on the feather vest and formed the outline.

The feather is steamed and hot-glued to the leather.

For the boney details, she used clay. A lot of clay.

Sprayed the base with silvery ash, painted them brown before smudging them to lighten the color.

Top armor whole set: almost done!

Glue together the boney shards to make the armlet.

Then we move to the knee protectors.

Using hot glue, she had the protector stick to the leather that has the hair glued to them.

Gauntlets done!

Next is the skirt!

She measured them by wrapping the leather around her waist and used hook to make the details.

The red belt around the skirt!

The fake hair is cut to give them that wild look.

For the horns, Svetlana has the template printed and uses thick black styrofoam as the materials.

She scratches the horns before coloring them the same way she did with the smaller bones.

Don’t forget the bag!

She gave a braiding to the mix of wigs she attached on the backside of the skirt.

Kneecaps with hair details also done!

She then dons the skull cap (which has its own tutorial!) and just look at how scarily accurate it is.

Amazing.
