‘I Ask Men To Show Me Their Bank Balance On First Date, I Need To Know If I’m Wasting My Time’
Sofia Franklyn wants to know the bank balance especially if they’re under 5ft 10inches.
The New York-based has asked at least three men she’s dated for their bank balance on their first date and it’s because she wants to date a wealthy guy and wants to know if she’s not wasting her precious time. Sofia Franklyn, who boasts over 296,000 followers on TikTok, is keen on knowing the bank account details especially if the men are under 5 feet 10 inches.
Sofia Franklyn has left the internet divided with her viewpoint of asking men for their bank balance on the first date.
Speaking on the podcast ‘Sofia with an F’, featuring social media star guest Leo Skepi, the content creator admitted, ‘I’ve asked the last three dudes I’ve dated for their bank account info on the first date.’ She added, ‘I think, you know, I have a job, I’m very successful. So, I think I have every f*****g right to be like, “Hi, are we on the same level or am I wasting my time?’

Star guest Skepi clarified if Sofia asks the men for their log-in details, to which she said ‘yeah’ and then pulled up a screenshot of the bank balance of a man she has an interest in.

I don’t think it’s weird to ask for that kind of information on a first date. I do that and, if they don’t show me, I’ll still go on like a second, or third date but I need to know at a certain point. A lot of people think that’s just crazy of me to do, but I don’t think it’s that crazy. Also, I’m 30; I’m not trying to just date and f**k around,’ Sofia added, stressing that she wants to know the bank account details, especially if they’re under 5ft 10 inches.

Fans who have seen a snippet of the video on TikTok, however, have mixed reactions as some advised Sofia Franklyn to look deeper into happiness and relations while others insisted her take was accurate.

‘Does love and genuine connection just not exist anymore?’ one questioned. While another slammed the content creator, ‘Podcast equipment need to be less accessible.’ ‘People who have money don’t usually gloat about having money or seek to be on the same level as someone,’ a third added. But many were in agreement with Sofia, calling the influencer ‘iconic’.

‘My fiancé and I are matched equally,’ one explained in TikTok with over 900K views. ‘But, if I were single, I would need that person to be on my level. I agree with her for the most part.’ ‘Absolutely 300% agree!’ another said. ‘You deserve to have a man on the same level as you!’ Meanwhile, this comes as Ella Freimann replied to trolls who call her a gold digger for urging ladies to never split the bill on a date.

The dating coach, 24, insisted that being with someone who isn’t generous with his wallet isn’t an option and clarified it’s not because she’s money-hungry. Per DailyMail, Ella believes that potential suitors should always cover the entire check because she has high standards and knows what she brings to the table. She insisted it’s less about the money and more about quantifying the effort that a man is willing to put in.
‘By splitting the bill, I’m agreeing to form a connection with a man who doesn’t know his role in a relationship and expects me to be 50 percent of the man he’s not,’ she explained. ‘I’ve learned that men who split the bill don’t value the time and effort a woman puts into herself to look her best for that man. 50/50 men don’t understand that the woman’s investment was made prior to the date.’ By not contributing to the bill, Ella feels she’s keeping her dignity intact and avoiding bad experiences with the man.
