More millennial who can’t seem to keep themselves in check.

Police are now on the hunt for the people who are responsible for vandalism on Council Overhang which has been a gathering spot for Native Americans for 8,000 years.

A pair recently visited the beautiful Starved Rock State Park where a cavern-like formation that is more than 400 million years old can be found. The spot is named Council Overhang and has been used as a gathering spot for the past 8,000 years.

But this pair of immature young adults decided to post a picture of them drawing and vandalizing the rock formation with black graffiti. We can see initials B+K inside a heart shape which may mean the couple’s first name initial.

The vandalism is now being investigated by Illinois Conservation Police who’s actively searching for the two and anyone who witnessed the vandalism that happened on Labor Day.

Park Superintendent Kerry Novak commented, “It’s disrespectful. If you bring your family here, you want to see a beautiful natural area. You don’t want to see this sort of thing.”

In a statement, the park has also sounded their disappointment and encouraged anyone to tell them if they know who the two culprits are. Although, the post has been subsequently removed from the account and it wasn’t clear as to why that happened.

According to a source yesterday, the female culprit’s ID has been identified while the male is still being searched. A witness also came in to report that two people were vandalizing on the walls.

Novak has also mentioned that it seems people have also been scratching on the walls. Now, they are also encouraging people to call (815) 667-4726 if they have tips on who, when or where in the park did this happened.
