Hundreds Of People Named ‘Josh’ Meet Up To Battle With Pool Noodles To Keep Name
What took off as a joke turned into a reality.
Hundreds of people, including men and boys named Josh, stormed a park in Lincoln, Nebraska, to battle each other with pool noodles for the right to keep their name. The event initially started as a joke when Josh Swain of Arizona in 2020 claimed there could only be one person with his name and launched a challenge of a battle for the right to keep it.

Swain sent people with his same name random coordinates, which ended up being in Nebraska, and opted for April 2021 as the date for the Joshening. KnowYourMeme, a database for viral content online, noted that coordinates were later registered as the Josh Fight when searched on gps-coordinates.net.
Only two Josh Swains showed up, but most of the people who came to the location were, in fact, named Josh.

The event has raised money for the Children’s Hospital and Medical Center Foundation of Nebraska, and many participants brought in food and supplies for local food banks. However, since 2020, people have continued to remind Josh about the fight and even got a new location, the Air Park Green area, since the former site owner didn’t want to participate.
