Finland’s Prime Minister Sanna Marin Takes Drugs Test After Party Video Showed Her Dancing Wildly
“I haven’t used any drugs, so it’s not a problem to take a drug test.”
In a video making rounds online, Sanna Marin – Finland’s Prime Minster is seen in high spirits as she dances wildly with her celebrity friends. And in light of the wild scenes, Finnish MP Mikko Karna, from Marlin’s coalition partner centre party, has urged her to take a voluntary drug test.
In response, the 36-Year-Old has denied using drugs & said via a press conference she had nothing to hide.
Accordingly, Marin defended her behavior, telling reporters that she had danced, sung, celebrated, done legal things, and hadn’t been drinking heavily. The glamorous PM hit out at the person who leaked the videos, stating: “I trusted the since the videos are private and published at a private event, they wouldn’t not be published. It feels bad they have been published.”
When asked if the video was a matter for the police to investigate, Marin said she doesn’t know if anything illegal happened & it would hardly be a police matter.
Giving more details, the PM said the evening had been spent in two separate flats with about twenty people and that they also went to two bars. She told reporters at Kuopio’s Rissala airport: “I haven’t used any drugs, so it’s not a problem to take a drug test, but I also think it’s quite special that something like this is required. I didn’t see any evidence that anything was used anywhere.”
Notably, the leaked video was taken from the Instagram stories of a private account and appeared to show the PM and her group of friends completely unguarded.
And among the public figures seen in the video are Finnish singer Alma and her sister Anna, photographer and influencer Janita Autio, rapper Petri Nygard, TV host Tinni Wikstrom, radio host Karolina Tuominen and MPs from her Social Democratic Party. The video drew backlash within Finland from those who consider the behavior inappropriate for a world leader.
However, German tabloid Bild had this week dubbed Marin the coolest politician in the world for her down-to-earth style of leadership, which some critics have slammed as careless.
The paper described her as modern and self-confident, but it added that she could also party. Bild claimed Marin belongs to the cool generation, which Putin doesn’t like. Despite the flak, some people see the video as a potential popularity boost, especially as she behaved the way many young people would have.
