Civilians are now trained to handle weapons, including grenades.

Among the hundreds of locals taking up arms against the Russian forces encircling Kyiv, a former Miss Ukraine has been spotted. Anastasiia Lenna has left the world stunned, especially as she confidently carried a huge riffle, complete with a pink scope appearing to be fully ready for the battle.

Taking to Instagram, the 31-Year-Old, a public relations manager in Turkey, shares an image alongside two hashtags that read ‘stand with Ukraine and hands-off Ukraine. This isn’t the first time she has been pictured with a gun, and previous posts had shown her training with weapons in wooded areas and indoor training grounds.

Via her post, the ex-beauty queen warned: “Everyone who crosses the Ukrainian border with the intent to invade will be killed!”

Apart from Lenna, other volunteers include a man with a prosthetic leg and a young couple who had to bring their wedding from May to tie the knot. Lenna’s viral image came amid reports of long snaking queues of Ukrainians waiting to be issued weapons in the capital while expecting more of Russia’s assault.

For weeks now, Ukrainians have been receiving combat training from handling guns to making incendiary Molotov cocktails to tossing grenades. Interestingly, citizens living abroad have even flown home to join in the Defense. Most newly trained people are seen rocking street clothes with yellow armbands to identify them as volunteer soldiers.

However, satellite imagery showed a large deployment of Russian ground troops moving toward the Ukrainian capital from approximately 40miles. The images released by Maxar Technologies, who had been tracking the buildup of Russian forces, showed a deployment comprised of hundreds of military vehicles and extending over 3.25miles, an estimated 5km.

After a grueling night of Russian attacks, Mayor Vitali Klitschko [pictured] had remained silent when asked if there were plans to evacuate civilians if Russian troops took over Kyiv.

But then, Vitali confirmed to AP that nine Ukrainians in Kyiv had been killed so far, including a child. On the other hand, Vladimir Putin is said to be growing angered by his hindered efforts to conquer Ukraine, but as reported, it is widely believed that Russia will eventually defeat because his fire and manpower vastly outnumber that of Ukraine.
