Elon Musk’s Trans Daughter Is Changing Her Name To Ditch Musk
“I no longer wish to be related to my biological father in any way, shape or form.”
On April 18, Xavier Musk filed court documents seeking to legally change their gender from male to female. The 18-Year-Old is ditching their last name Musk for their mother’s last name and desires to be known instead as Vivian Jenna Wilson. The decision to lose their last name is hinged on the reasons they no longer live with or wish to be related to their biological father in any way, shape, or form.
Musk had tied the knot with Vivian’s mom, Justine Wilson, from 2000 until 2008.
The former couple’s first son, Nevada, was born in 2002 but died of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDs) at ten weeks. The pair then went on to have twins, Xavier and Griffin, including triplet boys Damian, Kai, and Saxon, now aged sixteen. Over time, the five teen boys have kept a low profile despite their father having joint custody. Musk has since also had two other children with Canadian singer Grimes.
It’s unknown what’s behind Xavier’s rejection of their father, and it’s also unclear if Musk was aware of Xavier’s plan before the court documents were filed.
Accordingly, Xavier hasn’t commented whether they received financial support from their dad, whose $213-billion-dollar fortune makes him the world’s richest man. The Tesla founder has no doubt been quite vocal about transgender issues and has even branded anti-gay and anti-transphobia in several rows. In 2020, Musk had complained about people using their pronouns and said he was a fan of Florida governor Ron DeSantis who was condemned by the LGBTQ community.
The complaint led Chasten Buttigieg, Pete Buttigieg’s husband, to tweet: “I hear your frustration, sweetie. See me after class, and we can go over the worksheet again.”
Just last week, Musk called out virtual signaling critics who panned a new Ricky Gervais stand-up comedy special after the show was slammed for being transphobic. The stand-up special on Netflix, Supernature, was equally criticized for Gervais’s jokes about racism, Hitler and identity politics, but many who watched the show have since tweeted about how much they enjoyed it. The Atlantic Staff writer Conor Friedersdorf also tweeted a screenshot from movie rating site Rotten Tomatoes showing that 92% of the more than 250 people who watched the special rated it well.
Also, in response to an article that discussed “What is a woman was legitimate,” Musk tweeted: “We are simultaneously being told that gender differences do not exist and that gender are so profoundly different that irreversible surgery is the only option.”
He added: “Perhaps someone wiser than me can explain this dichotomy. It is a better world if we are all less judgy.” Musk also insisted he’s totally pro-LBGT rights and cited Tesla’s constant top marks in lists of best places for LGBT people to work as evidence of his open-mindedness. However, Grimes began dating Musk in 2018, and in May 2020, she gave birth to their son known as X. In December 2021, they welcomed a daughter born via surrogate, known as Y. The pair had visited Italy in August with at least three of their five teens’ sons, but it wasn’t clear if Xavier was among them.
