Elon Musk Is Hiring For Tesla And Doesn’t Care If Applicants Finished High School Or Not
‘There’s no need for a college or even high school degree!’
Elon Musk is officially hiring people to work for Tesla and interestingly, he’s not bothered if applicants didn’t graduate from high school.
The CEO of SpaceX recently said he’s planning to hire folks for Tesla’s artificial intelligence team. ‘Join AI at Tesla! It reports directly to me and we meet/email/text almost every day.’ Elon tweeted.
Replying to one of Musk’s tweet about the openings, an eager Twitter user @SamTalksTesla asked: ‘Have I got time to get a quick Ph.D. in Al to secure an invite?’
Responding, the billionaire revealed vacancies don’t require a specific degree. ‘A Ph.D. is not required. All that matters is a deep understanding of Artificial Intelligence and the ability to implement NNs in a way that’s actually useful. Don’t care if you even graduated high school.’
Insisting educational background is irrelevant, Musk further revealed that anyone that applies to work with Tesla must, however, take and pass a hardcore coding test, hence it wouldn’t just be that imagined cakewalk. On the other hand, a shot at working with Musk without having to go into student loan debt can truly be worthwhile.
Nevertheless, the Tesla founder in an Interview 2014, had expressed his views on the irrelevant of a college degree. ‘There’s no need to even have a college or high school degree at all. If somebody graduated from a great university, that might be an indication they will be capable of doing great things, but honestly, it’s not necessarily the case anymore.’
‘If you look at people like Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, Larry Ellison, all of these guys didn’t graduate from college, and if you have had a chance to hire them, it would be a good idea.’ Musk had explained.
