Couple Planning To Retire Adopt Seven Siblings Whose Parents Died In A Car Crash

Pam couldn’t stop staring at their faces and felt compelled to adopt the seven children now aged and named: Xander, 4, Leo, 5, Aubriella, 7, Anthony, 8, Aleecia, 9, Ruby, 13, and Adelino, 15. Pam and Husband Gary Willis, 53, from Menifee, California, have five biological children and had been fostering kids for several years.
The kids’ parents, who had battled additions, tragically suffered fatal injuries and died after their car flipped onto the side on the highway.
The pair are anticipating retirement but had never discussed adoption. “I can’t explain it. I just knew I was supposed to be their mom.” Pam told TODAY. She added that she had to tag Gary in the Facebook past despite nearing to retire. The siblings’ mom, aged 31, and dad, 42, suffered fatal injuries after their car flipped onto the side, leaving the highway.

Pam explained that they both felt “it was what God wanted us to do,” but on calling the number on the ad, the pair were informed that thousands of people had already applied. Fortunately, Pam and Gary two months later got matched with the kids who hadn’t only been left orphaned but had also lived in homeless encampments and struggled for food.

“I think they didn’t quite trust we were real. Like maybe we were going to go away. I think it’s so hard to trust when so much has been taken from your life. Ruby didn’t know how to be a kid. She had to be a mother figure at a very young age.” Pam added, revealing that the youngest children were easy to connect with.

In the first months, Pam said the children struggled to sleep having moved into their home. However, the family enjoyed a joyous adoption ceremony in August 2020. So far, Willis’s story has caught the eye of internet users, and following a lengthy post that recapped the first time Pam sighted the kids on Facebook, the pair have been inundated with positive comments. More recently, Pam shared a highlight real she titled: “Our life in 15 seconds,” where she showed her life with Garry from when they met, through welcoming five biological children and adding seven new members to the family.
