Chrissy Teigen, 37, And John Legend, 44, Welcome 4th Child Via Surrogate
The newborn via surrogate comes five months after Teigen gave birth to their third baby.
The model finally has the four children she had always dreamed of. Chrissy Teigen and her husband John Legend have welcomed their fourth child via surrogate. This was made known in an Instagram post, in which Teigen talked about her journey working with a surrogate following the loss of her baby Jack, at 20 weeks of pregnancy in 2020. The couple reached out to a surrogacy agency in 2021 to inquire about having two tandem surrogates to help carry their third and fourth children.
The newborn via surrogate is now named WREN and he had been born just minutes before midnight on June 19.
“For as long as I can remember, I’ve always wanted four children. As a little girl, 2 glow worms and 2 cabbage patch dolls were perpetually in my arms, helping me stir in my pretend kitchen. After losing Jack, I didn’t think I’d be able to carry any more babies on my own. To be honest, I’ve personally blocked out a lot of my mindset during that time, but one clear memory is being surrounded by people who wanted to make sure I wouldn’t go through that pain and loss again,’ the model wrote.
Teigen explained that at some point in her surrogacy journey, upon coming out of a therapy session, she decided to carry just one more time and it indeed led to giving birth to baby Esti Maxine Stephens earlier this year.
She continued, “Around this same time, we also met the most incredible, loving, compassionate surrogate we could ever imagine, Alexandra. I knew she was a perfect match for us the moment we spoke to her. The first embryo we tried with Alex didn’t survive, and I will never forget how hard she fought to get ready for a second transfer,” the model said. “As we crept toward the safe zone of my pregnancy, we were overjoyed to learn Alexandra had become pregnant with a little boy. Our little boy.’
“We ate hot pot to celebrate, watched Vanderpump Rules with our growing bellies, our families blending into one for the past year,” Teigen wrote. “Just minutes before midnight on June 19th, I got to witness the most beautiful woman, my friend, our surrogate, give birth amidst a bit of chaos, but with strength and pure joy and love.” Teigen shared adorable photos of the newborn whose full name is Wren Alexander Stephens at the end of her post.
The model, who also included a photo with their surrogate Alexandra concluded the post, “Our hearts, and our home, are officially full. And to our Jack, we know both their angel kisses are from you.” However, Legend for his part has also shared the news of his newest family member on Instagram with a series of images and a short caption that read, ‘Wren Alexander Stephens, our new love.’ On the other hand, the couple is already parents to their 7-year-old daughter, Luna, and 5-year-old Miles.
