BTS’s V, whose real name is Kim Taehyung, has made history, becoming the first K-pop soloist to spend seven consecutive weeks on the Billboard 200 chart. V’s journey on the Billboard 200 began with the release of his self-composed track, “Sweet Night.” The beautiful ballad, featured in the popular Korean drama “Itaewon Class,” has earned positive feedback. Its inclusion in the drama’s soundtrack also propelled the song to reach new heights, securing a spot on the Billboard Hot 100.
Now, BTS’s V has achieved historic success on the Billboard 200 chart with his album “Layover.

Since its initial release, Layover has consistently maintained its position on the charts, securing the No. 160 spot on the Billboard 200 for the week ending November 4. Remarkably, Layover has also achieved the distinction of becoming only the second Korean solo album to spend a total of seven weeks on the Billboard 200. The first was RM’s solo album, Indigo, though it’s worth noting that RM’s charting weeks were not consecutive.
In addition to its impressive performance on the Billboard 200, Layover reclaimed the No. 13 spot on Billboard’s Top Current Album Sales chart and No. 18 on the Top Album Sales chart during its seventh week on both of these respective charts. However, the success of “Sweet Night” paved the way for V’s debut mixtape, “KTH1.” Released under the name “Vante,” a pseudonym he often uses for his artistic endeavors, the mixtape showcased V’s versatility as a musician.
Accordingly, V’s title track “Slow Dancing” continues to perform admirably, reaching the 30th position on Billboard’s Global Excl. U.S. chart in its seventh week. Reportedly, it secured the 54th spot on the Global 200 chart. V’s pre-release single, “Love Me Again,” also made a noteworthy return, attaining the 116th position on the Global Excl. U.S. chart in its 11th week. V’s remarkable solo journey remains on an upward trajectory, as he appeared at No. 83 on Billboard’s Artist 100, marking his ninth non-consecutive week on the chart as a solo artist.
Meanwhile, on October 31, BANGTAN TV shared a brief vlog featuring BTS’ V and included clips from his “taetae TV.” The vlog titled “V-log in Tokyo” provided a charming glimpse into the Sweet Night singer’s journey to Tokyo. In this six-minute video, V shared moments from his trip, showcasing his arrival, preparations for a music television show appearance, visits to prominent tourist attractions, and a performance at Tokyo Tower. It offered fans a delightful peek into the idol’s experiences in Japan’s capital.
