Bride Goes Viral For Embracing Her Natural Gray Hair On Her Wedding Day

On June 26th, Kadeja Jackson & her husband Derrick Baker tied the knot in a destination wedding at Hotel Colonnade in Coral Gabes in Miami, Florida, 20 years after they started dating. And of the beautiful occasion, Kadeja’s choice of hair color seems to be what has got the internet talking.
The bride was aged 16 when she started going gray, and she embraced the hair color on her wedding day.
Makeup artist Tia Codrington, known as @mua_ttt_tia on social media, styled Jackson for the occasion. Tia opted for the old Hollywood-inspired finger waves and adorned the 38-Year-Old grey hair with crystal hairpieces. After the ceremony, Jackson’s long hair was styled in loose curls before hitting the dance floor with her husband.

As of this time of writing, the post has garnered 193.4K likes alongside compliments about Jackson’s hair. In the comments, some people wanted to know what motivated her to grow out her gray streaks, while a few were inspired by how she has embraced her natural hair, especially on her wedding day. Speaking with Insider, Jackson, a regional manager with the housing department, said of her surprise reaction to her natural color.
She told the outlet: “I was totally taken off guard. I see myself every day, so it’s not a big deal.”
Jackson added she wasn’t always comfortable with her graying hair and spent years dying it until she decided seven years ago there was no point and that her roots would turn gray. She explained that accepting her natural color is empowering because she feels comfortable being herself. The mom-of-two stated people had been asking her about her hair long before she went viral.
She expressed: “I get stopped so many times a day, and people ask me what hair color I am using. I’m like, I’m not using a hair color. That’s my hair.”
However, Tia shared other Jackson clips, including footage of her seeing her hair and makeup for the first time, her first look with her husband, and their kiss at the altar.
