Brian Laundrie And Family Pay Tribute After Gabby Petito’s Body is Found
“We will continue to work with the FBI in the search for more answers.”
Brian Laundrie’s family paid tribute to the missing girl found dead in Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming. Gabby Petito was driving across the states in the US while visiting National Parks together with fiance Brian Laundrie.
But the woman stopped contacting her family on August 25.
More than two weeks later, on September 11, the family finally filed a missing person report for the 22-year-old. Laundrie later returned to North Port, Florida, with the van, but officers reported that the family has been preventing them from communicating with the man directly.
After that, they claimed they didn’t know where the man was.
After finding a body near the described area, North Port Police released a statement, “We are saddened and heartbroken to learn that Gabby has been found deceased. Our focus from the start, along with the FBI, and national partners, has been to bring her home.”
Gabby’s father tweeted a picture of her while grieving.
The family has also requested through their lawyer Richard Benson Stafford to “refrain from contacting the Schmidt and Petito family.” As of now, they’re still not ready to make a public statement.
After reports of a body with a similar description to the YouTuber’s, the Laundrie’s family sent their tribute through their attorney, “The news about Gabby Petito is heartbreaking. The Laundrie family prays for Gabby and her family.”
The FBI has also been involved, according to North Port Police, “We will continue to work with the FBI in the search for more answers.”
“Full forensic identification has not been completed, and we do not yet know the cause of death.”
They added, “The FBI and our partners extend our heartfelt condolences to Gabby’s family and loved ones. This is an incredibly difficult time for them, and our thoughts are with them as they mourn the loss of their daughter.”
An autopsy is scheduled to take place on September 21.
