Brave Girl, 10, Was Shot Dead By Texas Shooter As She Called 911
21 confirmed deaths with more injured.
Texas is grieving as 21 people have been confirmed dead after Salvador Ramos, an 18-year-old teenager, rained bullets at Robb Elementary in Uvalde at 11.30 am, turning this into yet another school shooting incident.
Two teachers and 19 students who were under 11 from the same classroom were massacred by Ramos. The man, who got a job at Wendy’s not long ago, bought himself two AR-style rifles and shared them on his social media. He sent cryptic messages to an acquaintance before driving to the school.
Ramos was shot dead on the spot by the police.
One of the victims was identified to be Amerie Jo Garza, a 10-year-old girl who attempted to phone 911.
Ameria was seated next to her best friend when she tried to phone 911 and was shot by Ramos. Berlinda Irene Arreola, her grandmother, described that her best friend was “covered in her blood.”
She recalled the man told the students inside the room before opening fire, “You’re going to die.”
“So the gunman went in and he told the children, ‘You’re going to die.’ And [Amerie] had her phone and she called 911. And instead of grabbing it and breaking it or taking it from her, he shot her. She was sitting right next to her best friend. Her best friend was covered in her blood.”
She’s just one among the 19 children, 17 of which have been identified.
Ramos, a bullying victim, had previously shot his grandmother after she ranted at him for failing to graduate from the Uvalde High School.
He’s also been identified by police who recognized him for being involved in violent arguments with his own drug-addicted mother. Acquaintances described him as a loner prone to self-harming activities, bullied when he was younger for his shaggy clothes.
But he may have approximately spent $5000 on the two AR-15 guns and 300 rounds of ammunition he used on the school ground.
