Beyonce’s Daughter Blue Ivy, 11, Mimics Superstar Mom In Gorgeous Green At Jay-Z’s Mom’s Wedding
She’s a spitting image of the superstar!
Beyonce and Blue Ivy, the duo stars made an entrance at Jay-Z’s mom’s wedding all dressed up super eye-catching. The Grammy winner was in a peach-toned ensemble from her shades to her pumps, ready to perform at the event. Ivy was in an olive green long dress, looking absolutely gorgeous.
It was Gloria Carter’s wedding to her girlfriend of 5 years, Roxanne Wiltshire, the president of the Wiltshire Foundation. And this marks 6 years since the rapper whose real name is Shawn Carter helped his mom come out of the closet.
It was finally the day that Jay-Z’s mom and the big family could celebrate with friends and the world of the love she’s proud of.
Gloria was the featured artist in Jay-Z’s 2017 track, ‘Smile.’ The CEO of the Shawn Carter Foundation spoke of how she was “living two lives happy, but not free.”
Beyonce was dishing it out in this corset dress with a faux feather to keep her warm. She carried with her a matching tote bag. While Blue Ivy Carter, her daughter, was in an olive green dress with short purple pumps.
Carter was 11 when Adnis Reeves, his dad, abandoned the family. And in the track, he rapped, “Mama had four kids, but she’s a lesbian / Had to pretend so long that she’s a thespian / Had to hide in the closet, so she medicate.”
“Society shame and the pain was too much to take / Cried tears of joy when you fell in love / Don’t matter to me if it’s a him or her / I just wanna see you smile through all the hate.”
The mom-of-four, who has an honorary doctorate from Lincoln University and GLAAD Media Awards’ special recognition with the rap track, has been gushing over her love life.
She spoke at Hilton Midtown, “Love gave me the courage to take the power that I allowed other people to have over my life for fear of them revealing my secret.”
“I am a human being who has a right to love who I love. So everybody, just smile, be free.”
Jay-Z recalled the tears when his mom told him about her feelings when he was at ‘My Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman.’
“For her to sit in front of me and tell me, ‘I think I love someone,’ I mean, I really cried. That’s a real story. I cried because I was so happy for her that she was free.”
The wedding also saw several other A-listers and celebrities, like co-anchor of Good Morning America, Robin Roberts with her partner of 18 years, Amber Laign. Amber is also the co-founder of Plant Juice.
Daytime Emmy winner Robin was in a sparkly blue pantsuit as she walked with her massage therapist partner. Totally enjoying the event, she didn’t spare a second from flaunting her relationship on social media.
She captioned her post, “Special date night with Sweet Amber. Wishing all a fun, safe holiday weekend.”
There was also the Oscar and Emmy winner Tyler Perry in a casual glam sweatshirt and ombre jeans. The studio owner went for a more casual approach when most women were dressed in glamorous dresses.
