Artist Visualizes A Little Mermaid Living In The 21st Century And It’s Depressing
Can a mermaid survive with continuous water pollution?
Before being reworked several times, Hans Christian Andersen, a Danish Author had written The Little Mermaid in 1836.
Nevertheless, the well-known edition was the one released in 1989 by Disney. And with a remake of the Little Mermaid once again in production, a German Artist named Stephanie Hermes, has decided to imagine what a 21st-century mermaid will look like.
Known as sos2, the artist said: ‘I would say that my style was inspired by the American Cartoons from the 90s. And with the touch of a Japanese anime, I love drawing hilarious expressions and cartoons are just perfect for that.’
While Stephanie titled its creation “The Little Trashmind” his drawings show ocean pollution in a way that is accurate as it’s depressing.
