Apple Provides Free Battery Replacements For iPhones Due To Charging Issues
Users have reported a defect in these cases.
Apple has just announced that they will be providing a free replacement of iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR smart battery cases that prove to have charging problems. They will replace these models in any colors that were manufactured between January to October 2019.
These smart battery cases are sold at $129 which extends iPhones’ runtime. It is tightly integrated with the phone’s system and uses the same port Apple chargers use. It also shows on the screen how much battery is left. They were first introduced in 2018 and iPhone 11 series have also got their own smart battery cases.
Users can replace them at Apple stores or service providers per Apple’s notice on their website. The company also said that this has nothing to do with safety issues and customers can wait up to years from their purchase date to replace it.
