In our modern world dominated by the internet and social media, we’re constantly bombarded by seemingly ‘perfect’ photos of people on Instagram. As we are about to find out, a lot of the images we see and admire are heavily photoshopped proving right “not everything that shines is gold”
According to the Instagram Reality team, “insecurity, envy, and money” are the greatest forces driving some people to alter their pictures so heavily before uploading them on social media.
For many, it starts out with a few simple edits and some minor filters there before gradually upgrading to major photoshopping. Eventually, it creates a huge difference between how the person looks in real life and how the online community views them.
